Saturday

The Unknown Gothenburg

A 40-kilometre journey through parts of Gothenburg that even locals rarely see: Lundby Old Church, the shipyard workers’ Slottsberget, the Klippan sugar factory, and the burnt-down predecessor to the city founded by Charles IX. Parts of the city that are otherwise seldom visited.

South of Partille

Along the Säveån river to the Jonsered factories, then up stage 4 of the Bohusleden trail and back across the highlands, passing Hindtjärn and Prästtjärn on the way. A 20-kilometre route where industrial history and the forests of Gothenburg alternate roughly halfway through.

Lexby hills

A short walk west from Home Guard hall, where the gravel road soon gives way to paths through the Lexby hills forest before the route turns back.

Sunday

City walk

A full day exploring Gothenburg, where every neighbourhood reflects its own century – from the wooden houses of Landala Egnahem to the Hall of State at Kronhuset and the demolished area of Landala, just a hundred metres away. A long journey through a city that is older than you might think.

North of Partille

A 20-kilometre walk that takes you through the woods north of Partille, past Surketjärn, Gröna mossen and Mörkevattnet, before stage 5 of the Bohusleden trail leads down to the Säveån river and back. A walk where you hear more birdsong than traffic.

Bokedalen

A ten-kilometre route consisting mainly of nature reserves: through Bokedalen, along a marked nature trail and back. A Sunday stroll for those who prefer the woods to long distances.
